Along with viewing all the amazing merchandise vendors lined up for Hope for the Holidays, shoppers also will have a chance to exercise their taste buds by choosing from food vendors. A returning favorite is Cupcakes for Courage, a local food truck business started by sisters Kathryn and Laura. When Kathryn was diagnosed with non-Hodgkins T-cell Lymphoma, Laura participated in a fundraiser to help defray medical costs by baking cupcakes. Out of the success of the cupcake sales and rave reviews, Cupcakes for Courage was born.
Now, Cupcakes for Courage has two food trucks and has opened a brick and mortar restaurant, Courageous Bakery & Cafe, at 108 W. Park Ave, in Elmhurst.
Cupcakes for Courage is environmentally conscious both in their use of all-natural ingredients like unbleached flour and no preservatives or stabilizers, and in the eco-friendly packaging in which they serve their creations. And if that weren’t impressive enough, they also give a portion of their proceeds to cancer research and other local non-profits.
This is the kind of cupcake and cause you can get behind…so come prepared to stock up on Nov. 19 from 11-1 p.m. when their food truck will be visiting us!
